BIRMINGHAM CITY, WREXHAM AND CHARLTON ATHLETIC HAVE ALL COME UP FROM LEAGUE ONE TO THE SECOND TIER FOR NEXT SEASON 15:25, 29 May 2025 Birmingham City and Wrexham have been backed to

'take the Sky Bet Championship by storm' next season. The Blues enjoyed a record-breaking League One campaign last time out, finishing on 111 points as Chris Davies' side won

the league title by some distance. Wrexham came next in the League One table, but a staggering 19 points behind the champions. Nevertheless, the Hollywood club continued their fairy-tale

rise through the divisions under film star owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney with a third-successive promotion. Both sides are going into the second-tier with lucrative budgets at

their disposal hoping to continue their progression, and that should make the 2025/26 season ultra competitive. Portsmouth chief executive Andy Cullen has been talking about the threat posed

by the Championship newcomers. "The promoted teams are going to be another issue which could potentially distort the league," he told The News. "Birmingham would have been

really strong financially whichever league they were in last season. They blew League One away in terms of the points they achieved and they spent well. "But it’s not just about the

level of spend you have or the highest budget, it’s the way you recruit and the way you spend that money." Article continues below The Blues have already been linked with a number of

players and the summer transfer window is still yet to open. Whether it's Crystal Palace's Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who's reportedly been made available, or rivals Aston

Villa's up-and-coming striker Louie Barry - it's a big and busy summer ahead for Tom Wagner and Co. WHERE DO YOU SEE BLUES FINISHING NEXT SEASON? CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE DEBATE GET
