A MYSTERIOUS FRENCH TERRORIST GROUP HAS CLAIMED RESPONSIBILITY FOR BLOWING UP A SPEED CAMERA IN THE PARIS AREA. A French terrorist group has claimed responsibility for blowing up a speed
camera in Paris. The Fraction Nationaliste Armé Révolutionnaire (FNAR) has been waging a campaign against the automatic radars for the last 12 months. This is the 12th device they have blown
up since the group, sometimes known as the Front National Anti Radar, emerged in April last year. Police confirmed the camera, on the RN 14 near Saint Gervais, was exploded at 1.00 Saturday
morning. The FNAR has told the government they are holding the nation’s speed cameras “ransom” for the sum of €4 million and will continue to wage their war until it is paid. Their demands
include dismantling all speed cameras, big reductions in taxes, strict controls on rents for private properties, greater financial transparency of big companies, an end to immigration into
France and a programme to encourage an increase in the French birthrate. A government source said: “We take any group that uses explosives to target public property seriously.”
