reward one of her many Scouse listeners. The Liverpudlian was hosting her final breakfast radio show on 96.7 today.

Leanne has been on the Merseyside airwaves for more than two decades. It was announced earlier this year that Hits Radio, formerly Radio City, will stop broadcasting the show this summer and

replace it with a national programme.

‌ Leanne currently hosts the breakfast show alongside Joel Ross, as the two were teamed together when parent company, Bauer Media, merged Radio City's breakfast show with Rock FM's last

year.

‌ The two host a phone in competition called the 1k minute in which listeners must answer 10 quickfire questions correctly to win a cash prize. The feature has taken place at 8am every

morning on the breakfast show.

The participant today was named Lorna from Lancashire and the listener fared poorly as she didn't get beyond question five within the minute. However, Leanne was determined to give away some

cash on her final breakfast programme.

Co-host Joel laughed she had "gone rogue" when Leanne suggested giving another listener the opportunity to win the prize. Referencing the merger with Rock FM last year, Leanne said someone

from Lancashire had the opportunity, so someone from Liverpool should have the chance to win.

They continued the game when Natialie from Huyton phoned. The listener came agonisingly close to winning the prize, but just missed out with the last question when she failed to answer

correctly that The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics were basketball teams.

Leanne joked: "You have ruined my last show." On a serious note, she added: "Natalie you did so well and I loved having you on." Leanne has been on the radio in Liverpool for 22 years and

she issued an emotional message on Instagram during today's show.

‌ She said: "For the last time our 96.7 will broadcast from Liverpool & a scouser will sit behind the mic. The things we’ve been through together!

"22 years of life on the radio with you all is what I’ll cherish my whole life. Thank you. How lucky am I to have had you lot to talk to.It’s the end of our amazing adventure. Completed it

mate."
