AREAS OF EXPERTISE Labor market issues, older workers, employment trends, and employment policy. ABOUT Jen Schramm, MPhil, SHRM-SCP, GPHR, is a senior policy advisor at the AARP Public
Policy Institute, where, as part of the financial security team, she identifies policy challenges and opportunities related to workers age 50+. Through research and analyses of emerging
employment trends, she develops policy options to help older workers find and retain jobs. She writes the monthly AARP/PPI Employment Data Digest and accompanying jobs blog. Before joining
AARP, Schramm managed the workforce trends and forecasting program at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), leading SHRM’s labor market and skills research portfolio. She also
led the development of research and publications for the SHRM/SHRM Foundation Aging Workforce Initiative funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Schramm is a member of the American
Society on Aging’s (ASA) Economic Security Advisory Council, and a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee on Aging Societies. She wrote the
Adapting to an Aging Workforce: Evolving Talent Strategies and HR Practice chapter in The Rowman & Littlefield Handbook on Aging and Work, edited by Elizabeth Fideler and was a
contributing editor for Investing in America’s Workforce: Improving Outcomes for Workers and Employers, published by the U.S. Federal Reserve System and university partners. Schramm holds
