ABOUT Kathi Brown, MBA, is a senior consumer insights research manager in AARP Research, where she focuses on financial security. Her work includes research related to planning for
retirement and retirement finances, challenges related to building savings and managing debt, perception of financial security, and wealth disparities. Prior to AARP, she designed customer
satisfaction research and brand research for the American Red Cross. She also previously conducted product and market analysis in the telecom space and worked as a research associate for an
