The recently released study found that nearly all (92%) North Carolina family caregivers age 45-plus believe it is important to be able to provide care so that their loved ones can keep

living independently in their own home,  and many (70%) say they would support the state increasing funding for home and community-based services even if it meant increasing taxes. These

services can include home health care, personal care, day programs, and respite care. There was strong support for the state to provide additional funding to help reduce the Aging and

Disability (A & D) wait list. Currently, there are more than 16,000 older adults on the North Carolina list waiting to receive services such as home delivered meals and in home care

services. Key findings include: * North Carolina registered voters age 45-plus show widespread support for measures in the Caregiver Advise, Record and Enable (CARE) Act. * Nearly all (92%)

North Carolina family caregivers age 45-plus believe it is important to be able to provide care so that their loved ones can keep living independently in their own home. * Many (70%) say

they would support the state increasing funding for home and community based services even if it meant increasing taxes. * Four out of five say they would support allowing registered nurses

to give other health care workers under supervision the authority to perform certain tasks such as administering medication. This AARP 2015 North Carolina Caregiving Survey was conducted as

a telephone survey among registered voters age 45 or older in North Carolina. The survey collected the opinions of North Carolina residents on issues related to providing unpaid care to a

loved one, proposals to provide support for family caregivers, and issues regarding financial security and pensions. The interviews were conducted in English by Precision Opinion from
