Editor09:24, 03 Feb 2025Households could save money by fixing their energy bills. There is an easy way households could make big savings on their energy bills - but they will need to act

fast. Experts say Brits could cut their payments by around £140 a year by making a simple change - significantly boosting their bank balances.

‌ There are sometimes risks with switching to fixed tariffs because if average charges come down it can leave customers paying more than they need to. But experts say this is unlikely to

There are other simple changes people can make to bring their bills down. Experts at Grant Store said: “Pairing heat pumps with solar panels is a game-changer. And it’s not just about big

upgrades.

"Simple steps like draught-proofing windows and doors can save £80 a year, turning off appliances instead of leaving them on standby adds another £45, and switching to a cheaper fixed-rate

energy deal could save £140 annually. Every little bit helps.

changes around the house, you could save hundreds of pounds every year while making your home more sustainable.”
