Believe it or not, 1995 was 30 years ago and the year brought huge moments at home and abroad. Nationally, 1995 saw the 'Battle of Britpop', the meteoric rise of boybands including
East 17 Boyzone and pubs being allowed to stay open all through Sunday afternoon. It was also the year that hit US sitcom Friends debuted on British television after gaining cult following
in the US a year earlier. We were pretty busy here in Birmingham too. From culture defining moments to the everyday - Brummies were out and about and in 1995. The Mail & Post
photographers were out in force across the region, snapping the life and times of Brummies and visiting celebrities. What would have been a pedestrian picture from inside The Square Peg
Wetherspoons turned into a prediction of times to come as the pub chain crew rapidly in the region. We had some star-studded gigs at the NEC which included David Bowie, Blur and Prince We
