app (stock image)(Image: AFP via Getty Images) A woman who claims she's earning more than the average UK monthly wage simply by using TikTok and has revealed her business strategy on the
social media app. Under the username @homenumber_3, she explained in a video that a sustainable income can be had with just 500 followers.
"In May so far I've made more from TikTok than your average UK monthly wage," the TikTok creator revealed in her latest clip, dated May 29. "When I started posting my silly little videos
last year, I was under the impression that you needed at least 10,000 followers, because when you get to that many, you can join the Creator Awards Program and eventually get paid per 1,000
views."
But, it turned out she could cash in via TikTok Shop: "When I started to look into it, I found out you can actually make really good money," she noted. "And in order to promote your
products, you only need 500 followers, whereas before it used to be 1,000 - something that changed earlier this week."

Content cannot be displayed without consent She continued her clip offering further insight into her success, revealing she was sent a free sample [product to promote] and required to create
a video 15-second video about it, earning commission by tagging the product in question. "You can request up to five samples," she added. "The video blew up and currently has 1.2 million
views and I have sold over 1,000 of these items, making the company £20,000."
Article continues below The TikTok user concluded: "The amount of commission estimated so far is close to £2,000 - just by posting a video about something that was sent to me for free.
Simply get 500 followers, sign up to TikTok shop because it's f***ing worth it."
TikTok adds further requirements required to setup, which are: "50+ video views in the last 28 days; Posted a TikTok video in the last 28 days; 18+ years old."
Writing in response, one fellow TikTok user commented: "Thanks for sharing this, I didn't know about the samples. Just requested." Another wrote: "That's amazing! Such an inspirational story
thank you for sharing."
Article continues below A third individual commented: "Thank you for this! Real motivation!" While a fourth hailed: "Well done. This is hopefully what I will do! Manifesting it for me."
Others expressed scepticism regarding the scheme, including one person who observed: "To be honest, I can understand that TikTok needs to make money, but they're kind of slowly destroying
their platform, because this whole platform is becoming adds sales and hate. It's night and day from what it was two years ago."
Whilst a second lamented: "Nah it's all about luck. Tried everything for the past three months consistently posting 3-6 videos a day, my videos are clear and great quality, while I've seen
others doing the same product with a s*** video get 100k+ views."
