pensioners on a DWP scheme that could be worth up to £100,000. It concerns those that had missing National Insurance years, as the deadline to buy them back recently passed on April 6. For

WHO'S ELIGIBLE For someone with 13 missing years who lives for another 20 years, it can be worth as much as £100,000 or more. During the Summer Special of The Martin Lewis Money Show


Live, the 52-year-old shared stories from viewers that did not manage to update their NI years with the DWP before the deadline. Article continues below However, they did manage to request a


callback before the cutoff point, meaning they were still entitled to buy back the years. Yet, many people still have not heard back from the DWP. Martin said: “Well I’ve had calls in to


the DWP about this, I’ve had half an answer, I’m still waiting for the other half of the answer. But the basic answer is, they’re prioritising calling people at state pension age or near to


state pension age so they will get that uplift straight away. “Or as soon as possible. The younger you are, the further away from state pension age you are, the lower down the queue you will


likely be. You’re asking should I be worried? No. I mean, some people are getting calls now, many people haven’t had calls. "What I haven’t had an answer from DWP is, how long this


process is likely to take. Article continues below “My guess is it could be another three or four months so I wouldn’t be panicking yet, I will be putting on my social media updates on that


particular one. "But the truth of it is, as long as you made the call before the April 6 deadline, once they call you, you’re still gonna be able to get it within the cutoff. You can’t


do it now but should still be fine. Don’t worry. It’s not panic time.” In a previous statement on his eponymously titled podcast, Martin said: “13 years can be equal if you have a typical


life expectancy to about £100,000 if you were missing them, hence the importance of the urgency of this deadline."
