ASTON VILLA FELL TO DEFEAT AGAINST PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN AND HAVE BECOME THE LATEST VICTIMS OF L'EQUIPE'S NOTORIOUSLY TOUGH PLAYER RATINGS WITH UNAI EMERY AND MATTY CASH BRUTALLY
JUDGED 11:28, 10 Apr 2025 Marcus Rashford was among the Aston Villa stars to receive a brutal rating from the French press following his side's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The
Manchester United loanee was unable to prevent the Villans from falling 3-1 to the Ligue 1 champions. Morgan Rogers had given Villa the lead after 35 minutes but strikes from Desire Doue,
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes ensured Luis Enrique's side converted their pressure into a first leg win. Unai Emery's side have a lot of work to do in the return fixture.
L'Equipe is renowned for its savage player ratings and Villa were not spared an evisceration of sorts in the Champions League quarter-final. The outlet was unimpressed with the display
from their Premier League opposition. Rashford was handed a scored of 4/10, along with John McGinn and Ezri Konsa. Celebrating the Parisian side's success, L'Equipe handed out some
even harsher scores. Jacob Ramsey and Matty Cash earned ratings of just 3/10, with the latter brutally assessed. L'Equipe said: "The right-back had clearly been targeted as the
weak point in Villa's defense. And rightly so. Struggling from kickoff until his exit, he was unable to win a duel and showed signs of nervousness with the ball." Article continues

Emiliano Martinez all earned 5/10 ratings but goalscorer Rogers and left-back Lucas Digne managed to record 6/10 scores. Unai Emery, who previously coached PSG, was not spared a verdict by
the French paper. The Spaniard was rated a 3/10. "His team refused to play and was understandably punished," the report read. "Furthermore, the Spanish coach failed to find
any solutions to secure his team's right wing." CAN VILLA OVERTURN THE 3-1 DEFICIT IN THE SECOND LEG? TELL US HERE Get your hands on AVFC 150 years merchandise This article
