UK TOURISTS IN TENERIFE HAVE BEEN WARNED OVER FIVE "SCAMS" TO AVOID THIS SUMMER 09:49, 30 May 2025 UK tourists in Tenerife have been urged to be aware of five key "scams"

this summer. A travel expert has put together a list of advice for those making the trip to the Spanish island, pinpointing taxis as the first issue to be aware of. Taxis are commonly used

by holidaymakers getting to and from the airport, or even local destinations, but TikToker, @lowpriceparadise, has advised against using the service. He said: "Taxis are hard to avoid,

can avoid getting a taxi, and instead get a bus, he would highly recommend it. The content creator said: "It's far cheaper and you're not going to get scammed." A second

"scam" on the list was concerning card machines, which the social media user stated there are lots of free cash machines on the island, and with a decent exchange rate. However, he

added there are also cash machines to look out for, which could charge you "six to seven Euros" to withdraw cash. Tourist shops were also flagged in the "scam" warning,

as the TikToker said if you are looking to get an item such as cigarettes, do not visit the tourist shops, instead go to a Hyperdino or a Mercadona. He said: "Don't go to these

little side street shops as they will be charging you twice the price for your smokes, and stuff like that. "Don't get scammed." READ MORE: UK TOURISTS IN SPAIN WARNED OVER
