À TABLE WAS DUE TO OPEN ON STIRCHLEY'S PERSHORE ROAD IN MAY, BUT OWNERS CHANGED THEIR PLANS AT THE 11TH HOUR 10:10, 02 Jun 2025 Plans to open a new cheese and wine bar in a Birmingham

neighbourhood have been halted at the last minute as owners say there were 'too many red flags'. À Table was due to open in the old Ra Hub coffee shop unit on the parade of shops

next to the snooker club on Stirchley's Pershore Road in May. Its name translating to 'time to eat' in French, the venue would have been an artisan cheesemonger, promising the

biggest artisan cheese election in the city, a biodynamic wine bar and brasserie. READ MORE: I visited a £4 children's attraction near Birmingham better than a trip to the seaside

Locals were told to expect a selection of cheeses from international small artisan producers, low intervention wines, sherries, manzanillas and ports, as well as smoked charcuteries, pates,

rillettes, fresh salads and light bites. In the evenings, guests would have been able to order from the brasserie menu, including charcuterie boards, cheese boards and more, with events like

wine tastings and cheese flambé planned for the weekends. Article continues below However, owners broke the news on their Instagram page last week that they had decided to pull out of the

lease. The post said: "Important update: Unfortunately, we have decided to pull out of the lease at the last minute. "Too many red flags have popped up (landlord/property

management etc.) and we cannot afford to take the risk." Article continues below But they reassured followers that they still planned to open in the area 'very soon', adding:

"We are, however, still looking for premises in the Stirchley area. "So if you hear of anything please let us know. And hopefully we can get this project up running very soon.

Until then, adios!!" If À Table is able to find a new location in Stirchley, it will be the second cheese and wine bar to open in the trendy neighbourhood in little over a year,

following the launch of Cheddar half a mile away from the original premises in April 2024.
