route through Northumberland. Emergency services were called to the A1 near Alnwick on Wednesday afternoon after reports of a crash. Police and ambulance crews descended on road at the


junction with the B6347. One person was taken to hospital by air. A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on the A1, near


Alnwick, at 2.27pm on Tuesday, May 20. We dispatched one ambulance crew to the incident and were supported by our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS). One patient was


taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary by air, for further treatment." Article continues below A Northumbria Police spokesperson confirmed the force responded to a report of a collision
