NEWCASTLE UNITED ARE POISED TO SIGN ANTONIO CORDERO AFTER HIS MALAGA EXIT WAS CONFIRMED 11:00, 03 Jun 2025 Newcastle United's incoming arrival, Antonio Cordero, has broken his silence
by announcing his emotional farewell to Spanish side Malaga. The tricky winger, 18, featured in his final game for the club over the weekend, before the Spanish Segunda side officially
confirmed the poorly-kept secret regarding his exit. “Antoñito Cordero will end his time at Málaga Club de Fútbol when his contract expires on June 30, 2025," a statement read.
"Through his representation agency, the player from Jerez de la Frontera has announced his decision not to renew with our club. Good luck, Antonio.” Malaga had tried to persuade Cordero
to remain beyond the summer, with improved offers put to the player in recent months. Real Madrid and Barcelona were also incredibly keen on the youngster before he opted to accept
United's offer. After guiding Malaga away from relegation to a 16th-place finish, Cordero took part in an emotional lap of honour in front of the club's fans for the final time.
Days later, taking to social media, he wrote: “Here comes the day I never wanted to come! "The time has come to say goodbye to all of you who have become part of my family since day
one. Unforgettable memories that I will always carry in my heart! “We have tried but due to greater forces it could not be and I am here to thank all those who made possible this dream, to
play and enjoy for this great club! Also a special thank you to an amazing fan who always supported us through thick and thin! I hope one day we will meet again! I love you MALAGA"

this term. The Magpies are expected to explore potential loan options for the teenager, with Ajax one club tipped to land his services on a temporary basis. Cordero will sign a five-year
deal on Tyneside, joining the likes of Vakhtang Salia, Miodrag Pivas, Leo Shahar, Trevan Sanusi and Rory Finneran as exciting 'development players' at Newcastle. TREASURE A SEASON
