NEWCASTLE UNITED TRANSFER NEWS AS JACK GREALISH LEAVING MANCHESTER CITY REPORTEDLY COULD SEE THE ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL SIGN FOR THE MAGPIES DURING THIS SUMMER WINDOW MATTHEW ABBOTT 09:00, 01
Jun 2025 Newcastle United continue to be linked with a move for Jack Grealish this summer, with the England international expected to leave Manchester City during this summer's
transfer window. Chronicle Live understands there's no firm interest from the Magpies, but that hasn't stopped speculation linking the the former Aston Villa captain with a move to
St. James' Park. Grealish is still under contract for the next two seasons, but after barely playing for Man City in recent months, a move now appears inevitable. The player last
started a Premier League match in early April. He appeared just twice - one outing being a late cameo - across their final seven games of the season. That lack of action has only intensified
speculation about Grealish's future. So, too, has England head coach Thomas Tuchel after snubbing the player by leaving him out of his second Three Lions' squad since taking
charge this year. Grealish missed last summer's European Championship after being dropped by Gareth Southgate and is again on the outside looking in at the national team 12 months out
from the World Cup. There are notably no Man City players in the current squad, compared to two from Newcastle - Anthony Gordon and Dan Burn. Article continues below Grealish and Gordon
started both of the Nations League matches England played in September when Lee Carsley took interim charge of the team. The former even scored against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
However, if they are to become club teammates, as with the Three Lions, only one can wear the number ten shirt. Grealish did so for England, with Gordon wearing 11. The latter has spent the
last two seasons wearing the Newcastle ten shirt, with Harvey Barnes becoming number 11 last summer. Grealish, though, could, as the situation currently stands, take the number 15 or 16,
both of which he has previously worn for England and for Villa's under-21s. --- _Here at ChronicleLive, we are dedicated to bringing you the best NEWCASTLE UNITED coverage and
