French side Lille this summer - on a free transfer. The confirmation has sparked a flurry of transfer interest in the England international, who looks set to return to the Premier League.
Former Manchester United youngster Gomes was called up by interim England boss Lee Carsley last year after impressing in France. He has spent four season in Ligue 1 after leaving Old
Trafford in 2021. Now 24, he is has revealed he will depart Lille when his contract expires in the summer. That means he will be available on a free transfer, with Tottenham and West Ham
ready to make a move. Newcastle have been linked with Gomes over the past two transfer windows as his contract ran down, and could rekindle their interest as they look to boost their squad
for the coming season. The Magpies have big decisions to make over the future of players such as Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock, but know any departures would need replacing so the squad can
deal with the demands of European football next season. Gomes, like team-mate Jonathan David, will not be short of offers, and United may need to act fast to strike a deal. Confirming his
