NEWCASTLE UNITED ARE IN A POSITION TO INVEST THIS SUMMER AND CHELSEA OWNER TODD BOEHLY KNOWS THERE ARE 'A LOT OF WELL HEELED CLUBS THAT ARE GOING TO BE LOOKING TO ADD TO THEIR
TEAMS' 06:00, 29 May 2025 Newcastle United are among a group of 'well-heeled clubs' who are looking to strengthen after Chelsea owner Todd Boehly predicted 'a lot of
investment' this summer. As well as unlocking substantial funds from qualifying for the Champions League - football finance expert Kieran Maguire suggested participation, alone, could
be worth a minimum of £80m to Newcastle - the Magpies are also in line for an additional financial boost after finishing in fifth place in the Premier League. Spurs, for instance, received
£164.6m for doing so last year albeit that figure also included the facility fee the Londoners banked for having 28 matches broadcast live in the UK. Although Newcastle will still have to be
smart, the black-and-whites will not have the same PSR issues that they did in previous windows and boss Eddie Howe bullishly declared that 'we're looking to reverse what we did
last summer'. Howe stressed there is an 'intention throughout the club' to challenge the squad with 'new players' and Newcastle's recruitment team have been
working tirelessly behind the scenes for some time now to 'try and set things up' ahead of the window opening. Howe has not had the benefit of a major signing for nearly two years
and Boehly is well-aware that Newcastle are one of a number of clubs who are going to spend in the coming months. Article continues below "I think there's going to be a lot of
investment in this window," the Chelsea owner said while speaking more generally at the Qatar Economic Forum. "Just what I'm hearing and what we're feeling.
"There's going to be a lot of well heeled clubs that are going to be looking to add to their teams and that's only good for the Premier League." _Here at ChronicleLive,
