THE POPULAR MUSIC FESTIVAL HOSTED IN TYNEMOUTH'S PERCY PARK IS BACK FOR 2025 WITH A 90S-TASTIC LINE-UP FEATURING NIRVANA, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, THE KILLERS AND OASIS TRIBUTE ACTS

13:51, 02 Jun 2025 Tynemouth Fake Festival has built up a devoted fanbase over the past fifteen years. The popular event is a celebration of tribute music, and features bands performing in

the hip seaside town across the course of a Saturday afternoon and evening as well as plentiful food and drinks. The 2025 event will take place, as in previous years, at Tynemouth's

Percy Park rugby club, starting from 11.45am on Saturday, June 21. It's held in a large marquee, with an outside garden area filled with food vendors and a bar. It's a perfect

event for the hip seaside town that's a very popular summer day out destination for families. Described by organisers Fake Festival Events as "a superb day of party-rocking

awesomeness", the festival promises iconic crowd-pleasing anthems from six professional-level tribute bands billed as "so good, they're almost the real deal". And 90s

music fans will be in seventh heaven with the 2025 line-up pledging "Britpop classics, electric energy, fiery rhythms, grunge vibes and timeless tunes". The line-up for this year

starts with INXS UK, on stage at 12.45pm. They'll be followed by Fleeting Rumours, a Fleetwood Mac tribute act due on stage at 2.30pm, before Nirvana Tribute take to the stage at

4.15pm. There are intervals of at least 30 minutes between the bands which enables the crowd to enjoy the varied food and drinks available in the secure garden area. The evening line-up

kicks off from 6pm with the Really Hot Chili Peppers, bringing California vibes to a hopefully sunny Tynemouth night. They'll be followed at 7.45pm by The Fillers, a Killers tribute

act, before Oasish close the show at 9.45pm. Article continues below The festival is expected to end by 11pm so Oasish will be the final performance. Oasish recently played a sell-out gig at

Newcastle's Riverside and are expected to bring a raucous end to the night with many fans anticipating the band's reunion tour which starts soon. A wide range of independent food

traders will be located outside the festival marquee in the secure garden area. The full trader line-up is still to be confirmed but organisers say fans can expect classic burgers,

wood-fired pizza, Greek street food, noodles, curries and pie and mash, as well as an ice cream van and vendors selling crepes, donuts and sweets. Drinks-wise, Fake Festival Events say they

run a "fast-serve" licensed bar inside the marquee where the performances take place. This sells both alcoholic and soft drinks as well as free water. The fast-serve element comes

from a drinks token scheme whereby revellers buy their drinks tokens on arrival and then exchange them for drinks at the bar. One token gets a single alcoholic drink or two soft drinks, and

tokens cost £5 each. The Tynemouth show is one of a number of Fake Festivals held over summer around the UK, with other dates planned in the Midlands, Chelmsford, Harrogate and Bristol. The

Fake Festival portfolio of events gets rave reviews around the country, with 94% recommendation via Facebook and a Google review rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars. Tickets are available online

priced at £40 in advance and £50 on the door for adults, or £32.50 in advance and £42.50 on the door for children aged 10-17. Children under 9 enter free when accompanied by a paid adult.

Under 16s must be accompanied by a paid adult and 16-17 year-olds will need photo ID if entering the festival alone. WE HAVE A DEDICATED NEWSLETTER FOR WHAT’S ON NEWS AND REVIEWS. IT’S FREE
