
Gopro hires designer away from apple; shares spike

GoPro is having a good day. The wearable camera maker's stock surged more than 19 percent Wednesday and the company announced it hired Daniel Coster away from Apple as vice president of
design. Coster was a core member of Apple's industrial design team for more than 20 years and is credited with contributing to devices such as iPhone 4 and iPad wireless keyboard, the
company said in a statement. GoPro CEO's new toy: A 180-foot yacht GoPro said the appointment take effect by the end of April. "Mr. Coster will influence all aspects of design at
GoPro in his new role, including hardware and software and services, lending his strategic vision and expertise to maximizing the GoPro user's experience from end to end," the
company said, in a statement. Apple did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment. Shares of GoPro have fallen more than 23 percent in 2016 but have gained about 14 percent
