SUBSCRIBERS CAN GET A 10% REDUCTION FOR SIX MONTHS BY SIGNING UP TO THE STORE’S LOYALTY PROGRAMME Subscribers to Amazon Prime are now able to benefit from a 10% reduction on their shopping
bills at French supermarket chain Monoprix. Since Monday (June 19) subscribers to both Amazon Prime and Monoprix’s ‘Monopflix’ loyalty programme will receive 10% off their shopping at the
store, with a subscription to the latter free for the first six months. The discount applies at stores, on the Monoprix.fr online store, and for those who use the Monoprix shop on Amazon.fr.
“This collaboration will enable French consumers to make savings at a time when they need them," said Guillaume Séneclauze, Monoprix’s CEO. PARTNERSHIP STRENGTHENED Amazon Prime
already hosted a Monoprix store through its website, which offered customers the chance to get products from the supermarket via the e-commerce giant. On top of this, there are around
370,000 subscribers to Monoprix’s ‘Monopflix’ loyalty programme – who already get a 10% discount on all their shopping at the supermarket through a €9.90 monthly subscription (or €8.30 with
a six-month commitment). The new offer will see all Amazon Prime subscribers – a number which hovers around 10 million in France, although the company remains tight-lipped on the exact
number – eligible to receive the discount, provided they also sign up for Monoprix’s loyalty programme. Those with an Amazon Prime account who have not already done so can sign up for
‘Monopflix’ free for six months, therefore benefitting from the 10% discount. The deal could provide a huge boost for the supermarket chain, whose parent company Casino, is facing severe
economic difficulties. They are currently in the process of SELLING HUNDREDS OF BUILDINGS TO RIVAL INTERMARCHÉ to help cut costs amidst a €6 billion debt crisis. For its part, an Amazon
Prime subscription costs €6.99 per month (or €69.90 for a year), or €3.49 per month for an Amazon Prime student membership. You can find out all the information on the deal HERE, through
Amazon’s official website. RELATED ARTICLES LOW-COST SUPERMARKET LIDL TO LAUNCH ONLINE SHOPPING IN FRANCE HAS FRANCE’S ANTI-INFLATION DRIVE CUT SUPERMARKET FOOD PRICES?
