PRIVATE OPERATOR TO LAUNCH DEDICATED FREE CHANNELS FOR THE GRAND JOURNAL, GROLAND AND OTHER PROGRAMMES CANAL+ is to create dedicated free YouTube channels for its programmes. The private
broadcaster and programme maker said the 20 channels would enable it to make it programmes more visible on the internet. _La Tribune_ said it will share advertising revenue made through the
channels with YouTube. The service will complement Canal+’s private view-on-demand services, where users now watch 10 million videos a month. As part of its new internet strategy, the group
is also launching Canal Factory – a new label to develop online shows. The new label will be more experimental and plans “diverse short formats and original productions developed especially
for the web”.
