THE VEHICLES COULD HAVE ANOMALIES IN THEIR BATTERIES WARNS WATCHDOG Thousands of electric Audi saloon cars are being recalled in France and throughout Europe due to a potentially dangerous

anomaly in their batteries that could cause them to catch fire. The warning over the Audi e-tron GT was released on the French consumer website Rappel Conso as well as its European

counterpart Safety Gate on June 14.  The problem in the €108,000 e-vehicles was initially identified by Audi. The models concerned by the recall were sold in France between January 9, 2020,

been drawn into the mire of the Takata airbag scandal that has engulfed Citroen and its parent company Stellantis. Airbags made by the Japanese firm Takata were found to contain a gas that

decomposes at high temperatures and humidity, making it unstable, and potentially explosive.  Audi included these airbags in its vehicles between 1996 and 2017. Audi advises people with cars

dating from this period to enter the vehicle’s pin number into the search tool on their website here to see if they need to replace the airbag.
