Renault support is inconsistent

I OWN A RENAULT SCENIC AND THE DASHBOARD HAS SIMPLY DIED – NOTHING SHOWS. The car works fine but I cannot use it without being able to view the speed. I have now found out that this is a

common problem with this car and is well known to Renault both in France and the UK. Following a Watchdog programme on the BBC, Renault UK have accepted to either replace the dashboard free

of charge if the car is under three years old or for £150 if over three years old. However, in France each case is being treated differently and we have just been quoted €450 for exactly the

same fault. My neighbour across the road has paid €250 and others have paid more. Why are people in France being treated differently by Renault, when they have obviously accepted the fault

in the UK and arrived at a just solution? It would not be simply that there are more Scenic owners in France, would it? I think that the French need to find out about this injustice. After

all, the French taxpayer has a huge investment in Renault and deserves at least the same treatment as British clients. Jean FAUGIER by email
