The House of Commons is being urged to step in and stop a huge change at Nuneaton Fire Station. Under controversial Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service plans, one of the two full-time
engines at Nuneaton Fire Station is set to be moved. There have been repeated calls for the council to make a U-turn on this decision but, so far, it has fallen on deaf ears. But with the
plans to move the engine to neighbouring Bedworth looming next month, the government is now being urged to step in. Nuneaton's MP Jodie Gosling has set up a petition that asks the House
of Commons and Warwickshire County Council, which is responsible for the fire service, to take action. This, she says, is because the plans put residents and the local fire crews at risk.

IS ON ITS WAY "On the 1st of July, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service will permanently remove one of Nuneaton's fire engines," the petition reads. "Alongside cuts
across the North of Warwickshire, I believe this increases the risks to our residents and our brilliant fire crews." In recent months, Nuneaton has seen several major house fires. One
saw locals 'lose everything' in a fire which tore through three houses in Alexandra Street. There was also a huge fire which ripped through homes in Vale View. "Alongside cuts
across the North of Warwickshire, I believe this increases the risks to our residents and our brilliant fire crews," the petition continues. "Despite repeated attempts, localised
data is not available to show that crucial response times in Nuneaton won't increase. The limited data that has been made available is based on historic demand, not the current risk.
"With no accounting for major infrastructure (the A5, industrial parks and high rise buildings) and no adjustment for our growing population, impact of poverty or the density of our
homes. " The petition ends that it will be submitted to the House of Commons and Warwickshire County Council. So far, hundreds of locals have signed it. The fire service has, in the
past, said that moving one of Nuneaton's full time engines to neighbouring Bedworth, will see the first appliance response times 'improved' as will capacity. The petition can
