A 28-YEAR-OLD MAN HAS SUFFERED SERIOUS INJURIES AFTER A CAR DELIBERATELY HIT HIM IN AN ATTEMPTED MURDER. 21:38, 20 May 2025 A man has suffered serious injuries after being deliberately hit


by a car in an attempted murder in Dumfries. At around 11.20pm on Saturday, May 17, emergency crews raced to Criffel Road, near to Lincluden Road, after receiving a report of a car having


deliberately crashed into a man. Upon attending, a 28-year-old man was rushed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries. The car and its occupants had left


the scene, heading towards College Road and onto Newbridge Drive. Officers have established that, through ongoing enquiries, a silver-coloured, five-door VW Golf with tinted rear windows was


in the area at the time. Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing and we have been gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area, which is being reviewed.


Article continues below "Officers have also been carrying out door to door enquiries in the local area and will continue to do so. "But I would also be very keen to speak anyone


who was in the area at the time or has seen the car since then and may be able to assist our investigation. "I would also like to hear from anyone who has dash cam, private CCTV or


doorbell footage from the Lincluden area around the time of the incident. "Any information, or footage, could prove vital, so please do pass it on to officers. "Anyone with

separate incident, we reported that a man had been struck with a jeep in a hit and run while waiting at a bus stop in Glasgow. At around 1.20pm on Monday, May 19, a blue Jeep was involved in


a collision with a 41-year-old man who was standing at a bus stop on Dyke Road in the city. The car failed to stop and drove away in the direction of Culbin Drive. The pedestrian did not


require any medical treatment. Sergeant Iain Allison made an appeal to the public for any witnesses to help with their enquiries. He said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed


anything to please come forward. “From our enquiries so far, we understand there were other members of the public at this bus stop and we are keen to speak with them as they may be able to
