2025 Popular TV actor Devin Harjes, known for his roles in Boardwalk Empire and Daredevil has died aged 41 after a battle with cancer. The actor passed away on May 27 at Mount Sinai West

Hospital in New York, according to his obituary. His cause of death has not been officially confirmed, but The Hollywood Reporter claims Devin was diagnosed with cancer last winter and had

been privately battling the illness over the past few months. Born in Lubbock, Texas, Devin began his acting career after moving to New York City, starting out in student films and

off-Broadway productions before landing roles in indie films. He eventually broke into the big time, making a lasting impression on audiences despite often appearing in just a handful of

episodes in popular shows. Article continues below His breakout role came in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, where he played boxing legend Jack Dempsey, and he would go onto land parts in hit TV

shows throughout the 2010s, including Daredevil, Gotham, Blue Bloods, Manifest, and Orange Is the New Black. One of his final roles was as Pete Baylor in Manifest, appearing in nine episodes

of the Netflix series between 2020 and 2021. Devin also made his mark on the big screen, winning several awards, most notably Best Actor at Italy’s Tolentino International Film Festival for

his role in the surrealist cult classic The Forest is Red. Outside of acting, Devin had a deep passion for martial arts, fitness, and animals. His obituary recalled that he first bonded

with horses just three days after birth, when his father carried him and his sister on horseback. His family wrote: “Outside of acting, Devin was a dedicated student of martial arts and a

regular at the gym, he often joked it was safer than getting kicked in the face by a horse.” They added that in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to TKC Blessings in his name, to

support scholarships for children pursuing the arts and a cause close to Devin’s heart. Director Antonio DiFonzo, who directed Harjes in the 2012 film Boyz of Summer, was among those paying

tribute, writing: “Terribly sad news as we lost Devin Harjes, an amazing actor and friend. He was constantly striving to be better and put his heart and soul into everything he did. We will

never forget you... Rest in peace, Lion Heart.” Article continues below Devin is survived by his parents, Randy and Rosanne, his sister Tish, and his beloved cat, Maude.
