THE GREGORY BROTHERS - JULIAN, ELIOT AND RYAN - ALL STARTED TO LOSE HAIR IN THE EARLY 30S AND WERE OFFERED TO HAVE A HAIR TRANSPLANT TO 'LOOK MORE IDENTICAL' AFTER GROWING UP IN
THE PUBLIC EYE GEORGE JONES Deputy Editor in Chief 10:38, 20 May 2025Updated 10:40, 20 May 2025 Triplets have become the first in the world to shell out £5k each for identical hair
transplants, all in a bid to keep their "lookalike" status after they began balding at the same time.. Brothers Julian, Eliot and Ryan Gregory, all 40, started noticing their locks
thinning at the same pace in their 30s, thanks to their shared genes. The former models - who've graced the screens of ITV's Blind Date with Cilla Black and been featured in
glossy mags like GQ and Esquire - reckon their appearance is crucial. This led Julian to delve into the world of hair transplants. Julian managed to persuade his brothers to "turn back
time a tad" and go under the knife for the nine-hour procedures on May 13 and 14 at HQ Hair Transplants in Cardiff, Wales. The lads underwent two separate surgeries - clocking in at
nine hours - where their follicular units were painstakingly removed one by one using a high-precision motorised punch to ensure their hairlines were spot on. Article continues below The
triplets are over the moon with the results and are buzzing to see their new dos in a few months once their original hair falls out. They're even planning a reunion in Valencia, Spain,
in six months to check out just how identical they've become. Julian, a PR consultant from Pembrokeshire, Wales, confessed: "Growing up, we started to feel less identical.
"It's a bit gutting, because when we were younger, our identical looks helped us stand out. "We landed modelling gigs and TV shows, but when we caught up more recently, we
noticed we were looking less and less alike. Our receding hairlines were knocking our confidence. "But then the opportunity came around to get the transplant, and we thought if we could
have more similar hairlines again, it would help us look more identical and to feel more confident again." In an era before CGI, the brothers' identical features made them highly
sought-after in TV and advertising - where they were cast in roles requiring twins, or occasionally triplets - when they were younger. These include ITV's Teachers, a mind-controlling
boy band in BBC's MI High, and lead roles in CBBC's Kerching. They also starred alongside a then-unknown actress Kiera Knightley in the movie Innocent Lies. "It was very
cost-effective for producers," Julian said. "But it brought in extra money for our family and we just continued doing it." More recently, the brothers were photographed for
high-end editorial spreads in GQ, i-D, and Esquire. However, it wasn't until their thirties that they started to look less identical after experiencing hair loss together. "We
started looking different," Julian said. "Our hairlines were regressing differently, and our facial shape was changing too. We don't all live in the same country, so we meet
up only about three times a year. But it started to become noticeable, and we were becoming less identical." In a bid to "roll back the years a bit" and to "look more
alike," the triplets opted to get a hair transplant together after HQ Hair Transplants approached the trio and offered to do the procedure, costing £5,000 each. Julian said: "I had
thought about it before. I went to Thailand this February, and when I looked back at my photos on my camera roll, I didn't like how I looked. I just started deleting them all.
"But I wanted to make sure my brothers were all on board." Julian says the trio would always compare themselves to each other - like who had the most hair and who had got the
biggest muscles - and he was keen for the transplant to help "even the playing field a bit". "Eliot took a bit more convincing, but as soon as he got to Cardiff, he was fully
on board," Julian said. The siblings travelled to Cardiff on May 13 to undergo the identical procedures at HQ Hair Transplants. Over two days, May 13 and 14, they each had a nine-hour
procedure where their follicular units were removed one by one using a precise motorised punch to make sure their hairlines matched - each one had 3,000 grafts. The lead surgeon designed the
hairline for them and made personal incisions to ensure they looked identical, and before the procedure, Julian was surprised to find that they all had identical blood pressure. "I
remember just staring in the mirror and having my head shaved off," Julian said. "Not knowing what I was going to look like afterwards was terrifying. But the team were really good
and we are all ecstatic with the results." The brothers left Cardiff over the weekend, with Ryan having flown back to Valencia this past Sunday. Article continues below Julian says
they're planning a trip to Mexico sometime next year for another reunion. "We should have nearly identical hairlines by then," Julian said. "We can't wait to feel
more identical and to get our confidence back."
