A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD GIRL AND A 22-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WERE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER BEING BITTEN BY A DOG IN KIRKBY, MERSEYSIDE, WITH NEIGHBOURS REPORTEDLY HURLING BRICKS TO ATTEMPT TO STOP THE BEAST


10:58, 30 May 2025 Neighbours hurled bricks at an out of control canine as it brutally attacked a nine-year-old girl sending her and another woman to the hospital. Emergency services


erupted on the scene after reports a dog had bitten two individuals triggering a massive emergency response including an air ambulance, 15 police car and two regular ambulances. The poor


seven-year-old girl suffered bites to her arm and leg from the brutal dog attack. A 22-year-old woman suffered puncture wounds to her leg, arm, and hand from the ravenous animal during the


frenzy. The horrific dog incident occurred at Dulas Green, Kirkby – 6pm on Thursday, May 29. Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment, thankfully their injuries are not considered


life-threatening. Officers were able to successfully seize the dog, thought to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, once they arrived on the scene. A neighbour, choosing to remain anonymous,


told the Echo his account of the attack as he was outside enjoying a post-work drink when he heard children's "screaming" and saw them running down the street. Article


continues below He described how one girl escaped up his path, but the other was caught and dragged down by the dog. "When we looked back, the dog had actually got one of the


girl's and pulled her to the ground. I ran over then and my wife threw bricks at the dog, which you can see smashed on the ground, and they just bounced off the dog's head.",


he told the Echo. "I ran to get a brush and by that time it already had a few bites. By the time I got the brush and got it away it was over [the road]." He went on to mentioned


another local resident came out to assist and ended up being targeted by the dog, resulting in his daughters also sustaining bite injuries. He elaborated: "[The neighbour] got the dog


to the ground and he was holding it down. Then I ran in [the house] to get a cage and I assembled the cage and said 'we've got to get this dog in the cage or it's going to get


out'. "We then managed to get it in." Describing the canine, the man said it was "very powerful and had big jaws". He continued: "You read about these things


and think 'Jesus Christ' but don't expect it on your doorstep." Dulas Green was then cordoned off by police as they rush to the scene alongside forensic officers arriving


to gathering photos as evidence. Article continues below During the chaos an air ambulance arrived on the scene with neighbours stating 15 police cars attended alongside two ambulances.


Police said enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
