A PLANE HAS CRASHED INTO A RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY, KILLING THE PILOT AND ONE OTHER PERSON AND LEAVING A HUGE FIREBALL IN ITS WAKE AS THE STRUCTURE BURST INTO FLAMES 13:54, 31 May 2025 A plane
crashed into a residential property this morning, claiming the lives of the pilot and another individual, and sparking a massive blaze. The small aircraft is thought to have ploughed into
the front garden of a home in Germany's Kleinenbroich district, grazing the front and inflicting serious damage to the walls before the building was engulfed in flames. As per BILD, the
pilot was attempting a landing in the nearby city of Mönchengladbach when disaster struck. He reportedly signalled engine troubles mid-flight, just moments before the catastrophic crash. A
major police operation has since been launched in North Rhine-Westphalia, with a significant emergency services presence at the scene, local reports suggest. Thick plumes of black smoke
have been spotted billowing into the sky above the town of Korschenbroich on the Lower Rhine. Numerous police, fire and rescue teams rushed to the scene this morning. Meanwhile, two hours
away in Westerwald - on the right bank of the river Rhine - a residential property exploded and was reduced to ashes in a separate, unrelated incident, reports the Mirror. The house, located
in the Rennerod district of Bretthausen, was completely destroyed after the explosion ripped through the structure around 7am, causing a loud bang. Incredibly, no injuries were reported.
Locals alerted the emergency services, reporting an explosion, but by the time the fire brigade arrived, the house was already fully ablaze. A massive cloud of black smoke was seen billowing
into the sky, visible from miles away including Siegerland Airport, according to BILD. Over 100 firefighters from across the region were dispatched to tackle the raging inferno. As the fire
tore through the building, an adjacent workshop's roof also ignited. Firefighters managed to prevent the flames from engulfing nearby houses, but a car was reportedly reduced to a
charred wreck. One home had to be completely evacuated. Three adults and two children managed to escape unscathed before the emergency services arrived on scene. Early reports indicate that
there were no injuries, and the cause of the explosion is yet to be determined. A user on X was shocked at the event, and used to it promote the cause of banning flights in residential
areas. They wrote: "A plane almost crashed in my garden but then managed to recover and crashed 2 km further into the residential area near Kleinenbroich. "What a mess!
#Flugzeugabsturz #Korschenbroich I am strongly in favour of a flight ban over residential areas." Article continues below _FOR THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS AND STORIES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE
