MEL B AND GERI HALLIWELL WERE SAID TO HAVE BEEN EMBROILED IN A FEUD FOR YEARS, WITH THE PAIR'S FRIENDSHIP REPORTEDLY REACHING BREAKING POINT IN THE EARLY 2000S 11:30, 29 May 2025

Rumours have long been swirling that Spice Girls member Mel B and Geri Horner, formerly known as Geri Halliwell, have been at odds – although Ginger Spice has paid tribute to Scary for her

50th birthday. This year's tribute was a simple birthday message – and Geri managed to avoid a repeat of last year's blunder. In 2024, when Mel B turned 49, Geri, or whoever looks

after her social media, included comments that weren't meant to have been in the caption. It unfortunately meant the tribute looked very impersonal, and it was soon fixed. Back in their

heyday, the duo were once famed for their cheeky digs at each other, which everyone assumed was all in jest. But now, it seems the banter may have soured into something more serious. Adding

to the drama, there's the old scandal where Geri was reportedly labelled "tone deaf" during the Spice Girls' early days, sparking whispers she might have been axed

before their debut single Wannabe even hit the recording studio. Thankfully, Geri's singing chops got better with time, despite not being picked for the group in the same manner as her

bandmates. Mel B, along with Mel C, Emma Bunton, and Victoria Beckham, joined the group after responding to an ad in The Stage magazine looking for girl band members. Geri, on the flip side,

didn't show up to the initial try-outs, instead allegedly bombarding Heart Management with phone calls until they gave her a shot in the band. Article continues below The Sun

previously shared some spicy throwback claims from management company boss Bob Herbert who reportedly said: "Unfortunately she was tone deaf and had awful timing, which meant she was

unable to sing in tune or dance in time," reports the Express. Geri herself has fessed up to not having any singing or dancing chops before joining the band, despite her stint as a Page

3 model giving her a bit of public recognition. Yet, the then 22-year-old Geri levelled up her game over time and even coined the Spice Girls' iconic Girl Power mantra. Despite Mel

B's cheeky digs about Geri being "tone deaf", the duo were tight-knit within the group – with Mel B even spilling the beans about their past fling. But when Geri left the band

on Mel's birthday without a word, it sparked what many believe to be the start of their long-running tiff. On CD:UK back in 2003, Mel B didn't hold back, telling host Cat Deeley

that she reckoned Geri lacked "talent". Fast forward, and Mel B dropped a bombshell on Piers Morgan's show, claiming they'd once slept together "in that way",

hinting at a sexual encounter – a claim Geri has since disputed. Last year, Mel B cheekily wished Geri a "Happy 75th Birthday" on social media, following previous hints that Geri

might've fibbed about her age. It seems things are all good between the duo at the moment, though. Geri was the third of the Spice Girls to wish Mel B a public happy birthday on her

50th. Sharing an old photo of them together, she captioned it: "Happy 50th birthday @officialmelb wishing you a very wonderful year ahead," as well as a heart emoji. However,

people couldn't help laughing at last year's comment, which mentioned a woman called Pippa, too. Article continues below WANT ALL THE BIGGEST SHOWBIZ AND TV NEWS STRAIGHT TO YOUR
