ARSENAL HAVE BEEN LINKED WITH A MOVE FOR SPORTING FORWARD VIKTOR GYOKERES, WHO IS UNDERSTOOD TO BE OPEN TO A MOVE TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SUMMER 14:30, 28 May 2025 Sporting Clube de
Portugal's chief Francisco Salgado Zenha has dished out a juicy tidbit on Viktor Gyokeres' future as the Gunners target the goal machine. The Swedish striker is reportedly keen on
a move to the Premier League after his stint in Lisbon, with a hefty £60million price tag apparently the magic number for his signature. Manchester United have had their eyes on the
sharpshooter since his former manager Ruben Amorim rocked up at Old Trafford last November, but they've all but wrapped up a deal for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha. And while the fallen
Premier League giants remain interested in his signature, Arsenal are dangling the carrot of Champions League football next season to lure the 26-year-old. Talking at an event hosted by
Radio Renascenca's Bola Branca, Salgado Zenha was grilled about Sporting's market moves and naturally, Gyokeres' situation was discussed, reports Football London. He declared:
"Gyokeres? He has three more years on his contract. At the moment, there are no offers. He has three more years on his contract. I think the answer has been given." When it came
to the club's transfer game plan, Salgado Zenha explained: "It's not going to be different from last year. We want to keep the best players and retain talent. We want to
continue being champions and having competitive teams and to fight on all fronts." However, Portuguese daily newspaper Correio da Manha reported on Tuesday that Arsenal had sent their
suits to Lisbon to have a talk with Gyokeres' agent about a possible switch. Despite swirling rumours about his next move, the striker kept his cards close to his chest after hoisting
the Portuguese Cup, remarking: "Let's see, it's football and we never know what might happen. To say something concrete is impossible." Article continues below Addressing
the whispers of a potential transfer to Arsenal, he admitted: "I don't know anything [about Arsenal's interest]. I tried to remain focussed in the last games. If anything is
true, we'll see." Although remaining at Sporting appears doubtful, both his uncle and girlfriend have openly stated their wish for him to continue with the club.
