Syfy‘s new head of alternative development and production Heather Olander continues to build her team, recruiting Kelly Garner of Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Studios to join the network as VP
Alternative Development and Production. Based in the channel’s Los Angeles office, Garner will develop and oversee unscripted programming, reporting to SVP Olander. Garner joins another
recent addition to Syfy’s alternative programming group, Andie Beckerman, who joined as new VP Alternative Development and Production a couple of weeks ago. During his career, Garner has
produced such unscripted series as_ Last Comic Standing, Ax Men, The Contender, Black_ and _Rockstar: INXS._ “With Kelly’s diverse experience, record of success and self-proclaimed fan boy
status, he is terrific addition to our strong programming team,” said Olander. Syfy currently has in development reality series _Hackers,_ which revolves around the world of computer
hacking, and has the Silicon Valley-based docu-series _The Bazillion Dollar Club_ coming up later this year.
