bertjan pot: heracleum for moooi

Play all audios:

influenced by the heracleum plant, dutch designer bertjan pot‘s new LED lamp for dutch furniture brand moooi features ‘white leaves / lenses’ that ramify off ‘branches’, ending in a form

that is both technical and natural in aesthetic. named ‘heracleum’, by using the technique of coating conductive layers in the design, the result is a very thin and delicate lamp – a design

not possible with normal wire. a metal wire frame forms the branch-like design, while polycarbonate lenses act as the leaves which are illuminated by 63 LEDs in total. the heracleum leaves

can be freely rotated and positioned as needed by moving them around their stems which come in nickel or copper finishes.
