The IED happened in Naushera sector.  A day after Indian army said they have a range of options available to punish Pakistan in the event of misadventure; a massive Improvised Explosive


Device (IED) explosion rocked the Line of Control (LoC) leaving a Major and a Rifleman dead in Naushera sector of Jammu division. The incident occurred at 3 pm when IED planted near the LoC


exploded leaving two soldiers grievously injured. They were immediately rushed to the hospital where both of them succumbed. “At about 3pm, an Improvised Explosive Device explosion took


place near LoC in Naushera Sector in which an Army Officer and a soldier got grievously injured.  Immediate resuscitation and medical aid was provided, however, they succumbed to the


injuries”, said Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand, defence spokesman at Jammu. In a separate incident, an army porter was injured when Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Sunderbani sector on


Friday. “Army porter Hemraj was shot at and grievously injured in unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan troops. He was provided immediate resuscitation and medical aid, however, he


later succumbed to the gunshot wounds. The Army authorities have promised all possible assistance to the family of martyred Army Porter”, he said. This is the fourth ceasefire violation by


Pakistan in the last 24 hours along the LoC in Pir Panjal valley. One army soldier and BSF man were injured in a ceasefire violation in Poonch sector on Thursday.The ceasefire violations


come at a time when Indian army said not just surgical strikes, they a host of options available to give a fitting reply to enemy in the event of any misadventure. Figures reveal Pakistan


carried out 2,936 ceasefire violations in 2018, which is the highest in eight years. In 2017 the number was 971 [860 at LoC and 111 at IB]. In 2016 number of ceasefire violations were 449


[228 at LoC, 221 at IB]. More than 109 people including 35 army soldiers and 21 BSF personnel were killed while 565 people were injured including 302 civilians and 263 security force


personnel in the cross border firing since January 2016 to July 2018.
