In the current fiscal year, no allocation was made for the Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project. No financial allocation has been made for the Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project (SSCP) in the
current fiscal year (2016-17), Rajya Sabha was told on Monday. In a written reply to BJP member Subramanian Swamy, Minister of State for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan said while Rs 1 crore was
given for the project in 2013-14, it was Rs 50 lakh in 2014-15 and Rs 5 crore in 2015-16. Asked whether there has been any modification made in the SSCP to avoid touching or rupturing the
Rama Setu/Adam's Bridge, the minister said the matter is sub-judice before the Supreme Court.
