a boon to parched Thanekars, it caused several problems as well. Two people drowned in the area following a landslide that took place on Sunday. The landslide also led to a huge traffic jam
in the scenic area. Heavy showers in the last 24 hours have caused a lot of inconvenience to people living in the Thane district. "A 17-year-old boy from Shilfata drowned in the Hedusan
river near Nilje-Diva. His body was recovered on Monday," said an official from the Thane district collectorate. "One more person drowned in the Ulhas river and the fire brigade
staffers were still looking for the body," he added. Meanwhile, a landslide on National Highway 222 (61), near the Kalyan-Malshej ghat, blocked vehicular movement on the road. The

this landslide. So the traffic was diverted to Aalefata and Shahapur. We are not expecting any more traffic problems," he said. A truck was also said to have collapsed into the ghat.
"The cleaner was rescued and admitted t to a nearby hospital. The driver is still missing," the official said. At the time of going to the press, the disaster management cell of
the district administration had also been involved, along with other departments, to remove debris from the NH.
