match as East Grinstead to on Buckingham in the women’s semi-final. East Grinstead’s Laura Myers was the first to make a big save followed by the opening goal from Chloe Brown who slipped it

past goalkeeper Nicole Mark’s left foot. Buckingham had a quick counter attack and won themselves a penalty corner, but Laura Myers was quick to react with a diving save. The second quarter

was filled with action with end-to-end shots and saves from both sides, with Chloe Brown finding an opening to extend her team’s lead. A quick restart and good reactions from Buckingham led

to a break and chance, but East Grinstead’s Laura Myers got her left foot to it. With two minutes left on the clock Buckingham won a penalty corner. A miss trap at the top of the circle and

some quick reactions gave Rebecca Van Arrowsmith an opportunity she couldn’t refuse and got Buckingham on the scoresheet. Both teams came back firing in the second half, but it was

Buckingham’s Lottie Porter who found the gap and equalised. Both teams had penalty corner opportunities with both teams hitting the metalwork leaving fans on the edge of their seats for an

exciting final quarter. It didn’t take long for Lottie Porter to find her feet as she takes Buckingham into the lead and leaving East Grinstead chasing, with Buckingham’s Nicole Marks

showing off her flexibility with a split stance save. Buckingham extended their lead further when Alex Naughtly went for a cheeky lifted ball over Laura Myers making the score 4-2 to

Buckingham. With only two minutes left in play East Grinstead pull their goalkeeper but Buckingham quickly won a penalty corner, but it was nothing for the players as the deflected over the

goal. Carlota Gomez scored for East Grinstead with just 20 seconds left on the clock but it is not enough to time to get the draw, and Buckingham progress to the final. Repton 2 Scorers:

WATTON Eleanor 18’, POLLOCK Amelia 19’ Bowdon Hightown 1 Scorers: WALTON Sally 27’ Repton attack early creating a busy first quarter for Bowdon goalkeeper Kirsty Mackay Bowdon had an early

chance but goalkeeper Izzi Evans managed to stop it sending the player Claudia Swain over her shoulder and leaving the Repton defence to scoop it up behind her.   Repton had an incredible

change from penalty corners but Izzi Evans was quick out making incredible blocks and diving saves. The second quarter was hot on action with Bowdon winning a penalty stoke taken by Sally

walton who scored but it was later disallowed. A cross in the circle leads to Ellie Watton taking Repton into the lead, closely followed by Amelia pollock making it 2-0 Repton into half

time. The final half was feisty as both sides battled it out winning multiple corners, but it was Bowdon’s Sally Walton who sent it top corner from a penalty corner drag flick scoring the

James Tindall who gets the first of the game and it was quickly followed by a penalty corner goal from Tom Carson. The third came after a poor cross pitch kick from goalkeeper Ore Ogunlana

leaving an almost empty net for Tom Carson. Surbiton and Old Georgians win penalty corners but could not convert, and it wasn’t long before Alan Forsyth picked up the ball at the side of the

circle doing cheeky back hand spin and slotting it past Ore Ogunlana making it 4-0 to Old Georgians. Both goalkeepers played outstandingly with a phenomenal backwards diving spin save from

Ore Ogunlana early on. Luke Taylor opened the scoresheet for Surbiton after being awarded a penalty stroke followed by a quick turnover. Some quick thinking from Jonny Gall led to a quick

flick goal from the top of the circle. Old Georgians James Tindall had an answer to Surbiton’s goals with a drag flick penalty corner making it 6-2 to Old Georgians. Surbiton didn’t back

down, and a strong slap shot by Jonny Gall at the top of the circle goes under George Pinner and deflects off the duo on the goal into the back of the net bringing Surbiton within two. The

corner, Evan Kimber set the bar within the opening minutes taking Wimbledon into the lead. Another penalty corner for Wimbledon and a sneaky penalty corner goal for Sam Hooper left

Goalkeeper Richard Curtis and defence lost. Another penalty corner but this time for East Grinstead and goalkeeper James Bailey goes low, Ben Macky goes high and the all finds the  back of

the net. Things heated up with Daniel Faulkner doing a diving flick but hitting the post for East Grinstead. A Fiery second quarter with countless penalty corners and goals from Wimbledon’s

Rory Patterson and East Grinstead’s Tijn van GROESEN 30 seconds into the second half Wimbledon extend their lead with a goal from Manuel Prol. But it wasn’t long before Wimbledon goalkeeper

James Bailey was caught off-guard with a cheeky goal from East Grinstead’s Alistair Clift. Wimbledon had some amazing team play but the final touch goes wide. A lifted ball earns East

Grinstead a penalty corner and Daniel Faulkner scores a rocket drag. East Grinstead bring it back with a flick post deflection supported by the East Grinstead crowd lifting their spirits

being the 7th man. Wimbledon win a penalty corner and Manuel Prol equalises as play continues. Richard Curtis makes  multiple floor saves keeping Wimbledon out but a penalty corner lets Ed

Horler bobble one over the goalkeeper. The match was end to end with multiple shots, but Ben Mackey equalises on the hooter. East Grinstead fans go wild, waving flags, chanting, singing and

18’, BARLOW Poppy 34’ 35’ An even start for both sides but it’s Repton’s Erica Sanders who manages to score first.. Buckingham played well with goalkeeper Nicole Marks and the defence line

making multiple saves keeping Repton out until the 18th minute when Repton’s Sonja Zimmermann extended their lead with an open play goal. Buckingham reacted quickly winning back to back

penalty corners but Repton kept it out. The second half saw a disallowed goal for Repton with 4 mins left in the 3rd resulting in a penalty corner but it was blocked by Buckingham defence. A

quick turnover and opportunity for Buckingham but Repton’s Izzi Evans shuts the door and sends the ball back up the pitch where Erica Sanders slots one passed Nicole Marks making it 3-0

Repton. Buckingham didn’t let off and quickly win a penalty corner, but it deflects off the post and they head into the final quarter. Repton score making it 4-0 and a hat-trick for Erica

Sanders, and Poppy Barlow scores the 5th under the sliding legs of Nicole Marks. Buckingham pull their goalkeeper but it doesn’t stop Repton’s Poppy Barlow getting her second. With 6 seconds

left on the clock Buckingham win a penalty corner and Lauren Thomas manages to get the first for her team and last of the final, making Repton Super 6s Finals 2023 Women’s Champions. Old

16’, PROL Manuel 37’ James Tindall wasn’t hanging around as he has 2 shots and scores off the second in just 30 seconds. A shove in the back from Old Georgian’s defence leads to a penalty

corner goal but disallowed as it was taken from outside the circle. A fantastic diving save from Wimbledon’s goalkeeper James Bailey helps keep his team in it and a green card for Griffiths

gives Wimbledon the opportunity to counter, leading to a cracking goal from Edward Horler. And he doesn’t hang around, scoring his second with a running shot over Pinner into the inside of

the net. Old Georgians answer back in the 1st minute of the second quarter with a strong goal from Edward Carson, but Ben Hooper takes Wimbledon into the lead and after an end to end battle

Edward Horler makes it 4. A well played ball from Ashley Jackson and the boards leads to a penalty stroke awarded to Alan Forsyth who sneaks it past the Wimbledon goalkeeper’s right foot.

Into the second half and a full pitch pass and a rebound shot from Edward Horler extends Wimbledon’s lead but Old Georgian’s Tom Carson finds the edge of the circle and loops one over

Wimbledon’s goalkeeper. A couple of attempts for Old Georgians didn’t manage to find the back of the net as goalkeeper James Bailey makes multiple saves. Evan Kimber tries to extend

Wimbledon’s lead but put it wide. A text book goal sees Old Georgian’s Edward Carson equalise giving both teams everything to play for in the last 8 minutes. Ed Horler tries to take

Wimbledon back into the lead but sends it wide and then Old Georgians Tom Carson attempts a diving flick but goalkeeper James Bailey was there to stop it and keep it level. Old Georgians win

a penalty corner and Ashley Jackson flicks it past diving goalkeeper James Bailey to take Old Georgians into the lead but a quick turnaround sees Wimbledon win a penalty corner and a slip

slap shot from Manuel Prol brings it back to a tie. A block tackle at one end and a swift steal at the other as both teams continue to battle. With a stop in play and just 3 seconds on the

clock old Georgians Goalkeeper George Pinner leaves the pitch to give them the extra player advantage but the match ends 6-6. Shootout A tie after the initial 3 shots sends the teams into a

sudden death  round but Wimbledon come out on top and are crowned back to back Super 6s Finals 2023 Men Champions.
