Facebook Page said a mainland property group had purchased the land and the business was unable to pay the rent.

"I was advised to pay the non negotiable rent but I wasn't going to pay the $1000 a week rent they wanted," the Facebook post said.

In other news: The service station recently supported Beauty Point resident Ron Spiteri with a fundraiser after he lost his home to a fire in May.

The event raised about $8000 to help Mr Spitieri get back on his feet.
