bulk of the contest, holding a 19-point lead heading into the final term but the Tigers pushed hard, ultimately falling a goal short.
League-leader Luke Murfitt-Cowen was the only multiple goalkicker of the game, booting two to raise the bat for his half century, while teammates Connor Pearton and Alexander both impressed.
Dominant duo Luke McCarty and Jordan Tepper kicked goals and were named South's best in the win.
Deloraine created a logjam atop the NTFA ladder, defeating Bracknell 4.8 (32) to 3.11 (29).
The Kangaroos' win, alongside the South Launceston result, sees four teams all on 24 points at the end of the first cycle of matches, making for a lip-licking second half of the season.

wet, wounded winners at UTAS The two sides traded blows all day, with Bracknell leading at every break of the contest, but the Redlegs were only able to add another seven behinds to their
total in the last half, giving the Kangaroos a sniff that they gladly took.
Andrew Gleeson, Karlton Wadley, Callum Smith and Jayden Carpenter kicked the goals for Deloraine as Brayden Butler did his thing, while Callum Mulder, Corry Goodluck and Matty Hayward found
the sticks for Bracknell, with Matty Dennis earning his second best-on gong.
Outside of the top four, Scottsdale took fifth spot off Rocherlea with a 6.7 (43) to 4.11 (35) win.
The Tigers held a one-point lead going into the final term but were unable to trouble the scorers in it as the Magpies kicked the quarter's only major.
The victors had no multiple goalkicker in the win as Brad Tuffin, Jasper Krushka, Brady Gee, Claye Young, Tom Mcwatters and Kyle Lanham found the sticks.
Coach Ethan Petterwood was the Pies' best, while opposing leader Andrew Cox-Goodyer also impressed alongside captain Luke Richards as Jacob Hawkins kicked two.
Bridgenorth put pressure on the Magpies, joining them on 16 points as the Parrots defeated George Town 7.8 (50) to 2.7 (19).
The visiting Saints were goalless for the first three terms until Anthony Axton and Luke Henry broke the deadlock in the last, which saw George Town outscore their rivals.
For the Parrots, Rohan Sergeant kicked his 22nd and 23rd majors of the season as the lone multiple goalkicker, while Corey Sheppard, Jacob Gilpin, Casey Walker-Russell, James Griffiths and
Sol Scott also registered six points.
Ryan Sheppard, Wian Dekker, Scott and Sam Curtis were the Parrots' best, while coach Saints Adam Zanevra, Dylan Burr and Brennan Marinkovic toiled hard.
