Carol Kirkwood first presented a BBC weather forecast in 1998 and now is the well-known face of the ‘BBC Breakfast’ team. The TV star has become a fan favourite of many viewers in the UK who
have warmed to her cheeky comments, quips and unintentional gaffes over the decades. But in a mild clash between the Scottish meteorologist and her co-stars she fired back after being
bluntly branded old. Carol was left speechless by the snub from Louise Minchin, which struck moments after she “interrupted Dan Walker's singing” in the studio. In a cutting swipe at
his vocal range, Louise joked: “I’m sorry you missed it, Carol because it was really something.” Her flustered co-host tried to justify his crooning during the 2018 broadcast only to make
the situation slightly worse. Dan said: “For some reason, I had the theme [song] to ‘The Golden Girls’ in my head.” Louise brutally fired back: “He must have been thinking of you, Carol!”
Her blunt quip referred to a US TV show which stars four older women with white and greying hair. Dan also snapped at his co-host: “How dare you drop me in it!” Through laughter Carol
jokingly swiped: “Louise Minchin, she is well off my Christmas list, not that she was on it!” Dan interjected: “Exactly, we’ll exchange gifts later Carol.” Later he branded Louise’s
attempts to make-up for her put-down as “awkward” to which Louise fired back: “Can you just stop singing? Dan added: “What? I was just having a little ditty to myself, enjoying Carol’s
weather.” “You know I love you Carol,” Louise signed off.
