The 63-year-old The Iron Lady star told Day & Night at the premiere of his new film Cloud Atlas at the Curzon Mayfair in London that the stage is where he really wants to be. “I hope to
do more theatre. If someone sends me an irresistible script I’ll be there,” says Jim, who has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company. “There’s loads of Shakespeare I haven’t done. In
fact I’d like to go back and live in Shakespeare’s London.” Meanwhile he didn’t mince his words when it came to missing out on an Oscar nomination for Cloud Atlas, a sci-fi drama based on
David Mitchell’s 2004 book, which also stars Tom Hanks and Halle Berry. “I was shocked to be honest! It’s as remarkable as all the other fi lms out there. You never know the reasons for
these things sometimes.”
