Daniel, 18, who played their son Ben Brockman on the BBC comedy show, spoke out about his on-screen parents getting together after their respective marriageS broke down. According to the

Mail, in a live broadcast from his account on Sunday night he told fans: “They’ve been doing it for years, they’ve been going out for years. “They are together, they’re having a good time,”

he reportedly added. “It’s all nice.” Actor Hugh, 56, previously confirmed his relationship with Claire, 53, at the weekend, telling the publication: “I am very, very happy. We are so very

happy. “It’s nice and yes, it’s so lovely.” His remarks followed the news the couple had struck up a romance after his split from his wife Kate Abbott-Anderson and the end of her marriage to

husband Charles Palmer. Mock the Week star Hugh is said to have ended his 19-year marriage to Kate in 2015, while Claire and TV director Charles reportedly parted ways two-and-a-half years

ago. “It’s the most wonderful love story,” a source told the publication. “They found one another at the right time in their lives and it’s all rather sweet. “Over the past few weeks there

has been some talk within the acting world of them being an item.” There is no suggestion Hugh and Claire’s relationship began before the end of their respective marriages. An insider also

told The Sun: “It’s always a sad moment when a marriage breaks up. So to have found each other after the ending of both their relationships is rather lovely. “They were going through

marriage breakdowns at very similar times, but it was quite a while after their separations that they got together last year. “Between the end of the last series of Outnumbered in 2014 and

the Christmas special in 2016, they didn’t actually see each other for two years." “They’ve always been really friendly but they were living their own lives until they were both

single,” the source added. The pair have recently been spotted out and about together, but the insider said people simply hadn’t “quite cottoned on to it”. Claire is mother to two teenage

sons with her ex-husband, while Hugh has 21-year-old son Freddie and 19-year-old daughter Meg with ex-wife Kate. The pair famously played stressed-out parents Pete and Sue Brockman in

Outnumbered, which ran from 2007 to 2016. As well as Daniel’s character Ben, they were parents to Jake (played by Tyger Drew-Honey) and Karen (Ramona Marquez) in the show. In addition to

Outnumbered, Hugh is known for a variety of voiceover work, regular appearances on topical panel show Mock the Week and Not Going Out. Claire recently starred in Next of Kin and will be back

on screens later this year in ITV’s TV adaptation of Vanity Fair.
