There have been a lot of rumours swirling around the new Call of Duty game being released in 2018. According to the latest reports, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will ship without a single-player

campaign. This was allegedly scrapped because Treyarch believed they couldn’t finish it in time for the October 2018 release. And while that’s a major change in how things usually go with a

COD launch, more changes are on the way. Instead of a campaign to look forward to, recent reports suggest that a Battle Royale mode will be launching alongside Black Ops 4. While none of

this has been officially confirmed, Activision are apparently releasing this as a separate entity. Fans will still need to buy Call of Duty to play it, but the new COD BR will apparently be

updated every year with the latest game content. And this is where things get even more interesting, as it appears that this new Battle Royale experience will be launching on more than just

PS4, Xbox One and PC. Gaming Intel are reporting today that this new Battle Royale experience will also be released on Nintendo Switch. There have been rumours suggesting that the full Black

Ops 4 experience would be ported over to the Nintendo handheld. However, this report suggests that only the separate Battle Royale will be made available. So while Call of Duty Battle

Royale will be bundled with the full experience on PS4, Xbox One and PC, this will not be the case on Switch. While it may be disappointing to fans on Switch that they aren’t getting Black

Ops 4, it does make good business sense for Activision. Providing that the new COD BR proves successful, getting it on the new Nintendo console would leave it without many competitors. While

it’s expected that Fortnite will be heading to Switch - there’s even rumours that PUBG Mobile will be ported - this has yet to be announced. TEASER: CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS FOUR May 17 will

see a lot of big questions answered about Call of Duty in 2018. That’s when Activision are holding a community event in which will learn the big news surrounding Black Ops 4. It certainly

sounds like Call of Duty in 2018 will be different, with earlier reports suggesting that a new Remastered game is also being launched. MW2 Remastered will be released this year, with the

caveat that it won’t include a multiplayer mode. While this sounds like a strange decision, it would make more sense with the knowledge that Black Ops 4 won’t offer a campaign. This would

suggest that Activision are looking to a campaign release only in 2018, which will surprise a lot of people. It should be noted that there has been no official comment made by Activision on

the subject, although two separate sources have confirmed this news now.
