And the construction sector saw a more gentle 0.2 percent contraction.  Overall, the level of GDP in the third quarter dropped below the 2019 pre-coronavirus rate fourth quarter.  Another


round of revisions from the ONS pinpointed the economy was 0.8 percent below the October to December 2019 period.  Previous estimates had underestimated the figure by half, with


statisticians convinced the economy had only shrunk by 0.4 percent.  The ONS said: "Annual real UK GDP is now estimated to have increased by 7.6 percent from 2020 to 2021, revised from


the previous estimate of 7.5 percent.
