Usually, the payment is paid every four weeks on a Monday or a Tuesday. That said, Child Benefit can be paid weekly to a single parent or if an individual is getting certain other benefits,
such as Income Support.
There is also an instance when the payment dates can differ.
Usually, Child Benefit is paid early if it's due on a date which happens to be a bank holiday.
And, with August 31, 2020 marking the Summer bank holiday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, some will see their payment date alter this month.

Rather than Child Benefit payments being made when they were due on August 31, they will instead be paid on Friday August 28.
Those wanting to check to see when they'll next get Child Benefit can do so by counting four weeks forward from the last payment.

"If you don’t know when you got your last payment, check your bank statement," states GOV.UK.

It's important to be aware that claimants may not get the first payment for 12 weeks.
However, the government guidance states that the payment will be backdated for up to three months.
Should a person not receive their payment, first, they're directed to check their payment date.
If it's late, then they are told to contact their bank before calling the Child Benefit Office.
