Peace lilies produce beautiful blooms 'year after year'

During July it's fairly typical for a peace lily houseplant not to be actively flowering, but there's one thing you can do to see another bloom in early fall. According to

gardening expert Victoria Cummins, "with proper care, you can expect your peace lily to keep producing those lovely white blooms year after year". While a peace lily will typically

flower up to two spathes during the spring months, summer may only be a showy display. Fear not if the peace lily houseplant has its flower turn from white to green during summer. Victoria

explained: "This is a natural part of the peace lily's life cycle, so don't worry if you see the spathe changing colour." Following a blooming season, the spathe will

turn from white to green, then eventually it will turn brown before wilting away. Victoria added: "As long as the main leaves of your peace lily look healthy and green, a fading or

discolored spathe isn't a sign of disease." The gardening guru stated: "To give your peace lily the best chance of reflowering, make sure you're providing it with bright

but indirect light," said Victoria. In addition to her top tip, Victoria recommended avoiding harsh sunlight and to "keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy". She

elaborated: "Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. "Feeding with a balanced liquid fertiliser every six to eight weeks during the growing season can

also promote blooming." If you follow the gardening expert's advice, you are much more likely to see another blossoming in September. _Victoria Cummins, a Senior Editor at
