Google Vice President of Design Matias Duarte has spoken out against Windows 10 – branding the new operating system "basically XP with a flat design skin." The Google Vice
President took to Twitter to blast the new Microsoft operating system. "I just setup a Surface 4 & Windows 10 – not sure why I was excited to try a new thing, it's basically XP
with a flat design skin," he posted on Twitter. Mr Duarte is responsible for Material Design – the new unified design principal that powers all of Google's services, from Android
to ChomeOS and even its webpages. "Design is all about finding solutions within constraints," Mr Duarte said, speaking before the announcement of Material Design back in June 2014:
"If there were no constraints, it’s not design — it’s art." But the Google Vice President is clearly not impressed with Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 10.
"Windows10 ? More like Windows 10 years ago," Matias Duarte tweeted. The Googler was then hit with a flood of disagreement from angry Windows fans. "Definitely not something
that inspired Google and Apple to drop Skeuomorphism and chase the Flats. #FutureNot for sure," one replied to Mr Duarte. Another add: "Thats better than Chrome OS which has yet to
be as functional as Windows XP ever was." "Went to Google homepage today. It's basically the Google home page from 10 years ago with the same skin. #FutureNot," one
social media user blasted. Google Vice President of Design Mr Duarte was quick to respond to the criticism and posted a number of follow-up tweets.
