Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will celebrate their second New Year’s Eve together as a married couple in a few days. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will also get to spend the final day of


the decade with their seven-month-old son Archie Harrison, who was born on May 6 this year.


The year of 2019 has been an interesting one for the Sussex family, with ups and downs.


The couple celebrated their one year wedding anniversary, became parents and embarked on a successful tour to southern Africa.


But Meghan and Harry have also faced what they referred to as “struggles” in 2019.


The couple, especially Meghan, told how constant media scrutiny and being in the spotlight was “difficult”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex kicked of 2019 with a visit to Birkenhead, England.


The couple was captured departing the Birkenhead Town Hall on January 14.


Meghan, who was around five months pregnant at the time, was wearing a purple dress and red coat and cradled her baby bump.

In February the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Morocco in an attempt to “build on the close relationship between the UK and Morocco”, a Kensington Palace spokesperson said.


Meghan was given a traditional henna tattoo - designed to bring her unborn child good luck - by a student at the Education For All centre in the Atlas mountains.


In the most popular picture from the trip Meghan and Prince Harry were pictured as they watched students play football during their visit to Lycée Qualifiant Grand Atlas, the local secondary


school on February 24.


In March, the Duchess of Sussex attended a Commonwealth Day Youth Event at Canada House with her husband.


At the event, the couple spoke with young Canadians from a wide range of sectors including fashion, the arts, business and academia.


The event will showcase and celebrate the diverse community of young Canadians living in London and around the UK.


No official photographs were taken of Meghan in April due to the Duchess’ maternity leave as her due date approached.


However, Prince Harry joined his brother Prince William to the “Our Planet” global premiere.


The Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge were joined by David Attenborough for the premiere at the Natural History Museum on April 4.


On May 6, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex became parents for the first time as they announced the arrival of a little baby boy.


Two days later, on May 8, the couple showed off Archie Harrison during a photocall at Windsor Castle.


Little Archie was wearing a white hat and blanket for his first public appearance.


Meghan and Prince Harry were pictured as they travelled down The Mall in a horse-drawn carriage during Trooping The Colour, the Queen's annual birthday parade, on June 8.


The annual ceremony involves more than 1,400 guardsmen and cavalry and is believed to have first been performed during the reign of King Charles II.


The parade marks the official birthday of the Sovereign, although the Queen's actual birthday is on April 21.


On July 6, exactly two months after Archie was born, his parents invited family members to a private christening ceremony.


Two official photographs were supplied from the christening, which took place at Windsor Castle, one showing family members in the Green Drawing Room.


In attendance were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Archie, who were posing with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles, Ms Doria Ragland, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah


McCorquodale, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.


Again, Meghan was missing from any official pictures in the month of August due to being on maternity leave with Archie.


Prince Harry, however, found time to attend The Rugby League Challenge Cup Final on August 24.


The game saw St Helens take on Warrington Wolves, at Wembley Stadium.


In September, Meghan and Prince Harry jetted off to southern Africa for an official trip with their son Archie.


On September 25, their baby son met Archbishop Desmond Tutu at the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.


Photos of Archie with his parents were taken in Cape Town, South Africa.


In October the couple was still on their royal trip of southern Africa.


On October 2, Meghan and Prince Harry attend a Creative Industries and Business Reception in Johannesburg, South Africa.


On this day, the Duchess of Sussex also told ITV’s Tom Bradby how she had been “struggling” with being in the spotlight since becoming a member of the Royal Family.


On November 9, Meghan and Prince Harry joined other members of the Royal Family for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.


Other family members in attendance included the Queen, Prince William, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Prince Andrew.


Meghan and Prince Harry have not been spotted for weeks as they are currently on a break from royal duties.


According to a palace spokesperson, the couple have taken their son to Canada for the holidays.


The family of three did issue an electronic Christmas card, however, to wish their followers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.


The black and white photo shows their son Archie in focus with Meghan and Harry blurred out in the background.
