MEGHAN MARKLE GREETS KATE MIDDLETON AT COMMONWEALTH SERVICE Meghan and Prince Harry’s ongoing fallout with Kate and Prince William was a subject of speculation within royal circles for a
year prior to Megxit. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex declared they were going to step down as senior royals in January, reportedly upsetting several other key members of the Royal Family.
They attended their final engagement with the other senior royals in March, when they all went to the Commonwealth Day Service in Westminster Abbey. Many watching the ceremony noted how
there seemed to be some frostiness between the two couples. A new book Finding Freedom confirmed that relations between Meghan and Harry and Kate and William had deteriorated to the point
where they were no longer speaking by the time of the Commonwealth service. The biography, serialised by The Times and the Sunday Times, also claimed the Commonwealth event was the first
time the two couples had seen each other since January. The authors, journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, said: “Although Meghan tried to make eye contact with Kate, the duchess
barely acknowledged her.” Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry (Image: Getty) The Commonwealth Day service was Harry and Meghan's final joint event as senior royals (Image:

from March reveals how the couples did interact — and appears to confirm Finding Freedom’s claims. Meghan and Harry arrive first and take their seats on the second row, alongside Prince
Edward and his wife Sophie Rhys-Jones. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be seen smiling at the Cambridges while William and Kate’s backs are to the camera. READ MORE: WILLIAM’S BLUNT

Meghan appears to mouth ‘hello’ at her in-laws, while William glances at the pair. Kate can be seen interacting with the Earl and Countess of Wessex, before sitting down, but it’s not clear
if she glances in the Sussexes’ direction. A spokesman for Meghan and Harry did not deny the content of The Times’ extracts but clarified that they did not contribute towards the biography.
They said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom. DON'T MISS Meghan Markle fury: How royal cost 'going up' despite

commentator Camilla Tominey shortly after the event, a lip reader had been able to detect what the couple had said. The lip reader explained: “When Harry sits down he says to Meghan, ‘He
just said Hello Harry to me and that was it,’ and Meghan smiles.” Still, Ms Tominey noted at the time: “We don’t know whether he was referring to William or dignitaries he had just been
greeting including Boris Johnson.” The Sussexes and the Cambridges walked in together to Commonwealth Day service in 2018 (Image: Getty) Meghan Markle news: The two couples were once

‘DISAPPOINTED’ THE QUEEN CLAIMS EXPERT RELATED ARTICLES Meghan and Harry had been struck off the royal procession, which they had previously been part of as senior royals. That means they
would have waited for the Queen to arrive and enter the Abbey behind her. However, following Megxit, they had been removed from the procession, which they allegedly saw as a slight. In a
move many perceived as a sign of unity, the Cambridges decided to withdraw from the procession too at the last minute and their names were even on the orders of service which were printed
for guests. Finding Freedom’s authors wrote that this was a “bid to smooth things over”, but the looks given suggested that the Cambridges were “unhappy” with the decision.
